About this Exhibition
Between a Fold and a Memory explores the cultural heritage of Emirati women through garments, textiles and objects. Working across photography, sculpture, textile and video Karima Al Shomely revisits the Emirati burqa and traditional fabrics as carriers of memory, labour and collective history, transforming familiar cultural forms into contemporary artworks.
