About this Exhibition

The inaugural Frieze Abu Dhabi marks the transformation of Abu Dhabi Art into a new international fair under the Frieze banner. The first edition brings together 84 galleries from 64 cities across 37 countries and regions, presenting art from antiquity through the 20th century to contemporary practice. The fair combines leading international galleries with a strong focus on artists and institutions from West Asia, North Africa and South Asia.

Frieze Abu Dhabi marks a major new chapter for the UAE art scene. After 17 editions as Abu Dhabi Art, the fair now joins the international Frieze network, alongside London, New York, Los Angeles and Seoul. Its inaugural edition brings together 84 galleries from 37 countries, while maintaining a strong focus on artists and galleries from the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia. Beyond the booths, the programme includes the new Frieze Abu Dhabi Artist Award, In Dialogue highlighting UAE artists, a talks programme, commissions and Frieze Sculpture Abu Dhabi, with large-scale works installed at Mamsha Beach.
