Hiba Tawaji & Ibrahim Maalouf – À La Française

This collaboration brings together two artists who have built careers between cultures, languages and musical traditions. Hiba Tawaji has become one of the most prominent voices of the contemporary Arab scene, singing in Arabic, French and English and working across musical theatre, pop and orchestral performance. In 2024, Tawaji performed with the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra under Gustavo Dudamel at the reopening of Notre-Dame de Paris, a career-defining moment broadcast internationally.

Ibrahim Maalouf, meanwhile, has developed a highly recognisable sound around the quarter-tone trumpet, moving between jazz, Arabic music, classical composition and contemporary performance. À La Française is less a conventional duet than a musical dialogue between their two worlds, using French chanson as a shared reference while keeping both artists’ distinct identities at the centre.
