Manish Nai: In Search of Material Within Material

Manish Nai has developed a distinctive practice around materials that are usually overlooked or discarded. Rather than disguising their origins, Nai works with their wear, texture and accumulated history, compressing, cutting, painting and reconstructing them into minimalist forms. The exhibition brings together works from 2021 to 2026, moving between watercolours, industrial metal, stainless-steel mesh, plastic netting and used textiles.

The exhibition is also a strong introduction to an artist with an extensive international trajectory, including participation in the Kochi-Muziris Biennale and Shanghai Biennale, as well as exhibitions at institutions across India, Europe, Asia and the United States. MOJEH identifies this presentation as Nai’s first UAE solo exhibition.
