Rana Begum: Taking Form

For her fifth solo exhibition at The Third Line, London-based artist Rana Begum pushes her long-standing exploration of light, colour and geometry into new materials. At the centre of Taking Form are monumental woven tapestries, nearly five metres high, suspended from the ceiling and designed to shift visually as visitors move around them. Alongside these textile works, the exhibition brings together linen, wood and paper, extending Begum’s geometric language through softer and more tactile surfaces. Drawing on both Islamic geometry and Minimalism, the exhibition is particularly striking for the way colour, material and movement transform the gallery space
