Sojourner: The Difference Is the Same

Sojourner: The Difference Is the Same marks Kenyan artist Maggie Otieno’s first solo exhibition with Efiɛ Gallery. The exhibition presents a new body of sculptural works created from reclaimed and distressed materials, including historic railway sleepers more than 150 years old and fragments of wooden canoes. Through assembling, layering and reconfiguring these materials, Otieno explores memory, passage, healing and inherited histories.
